|
I was a member of SSC from a very young age, training four to five
times a week. I retired from competitive swimming a few years ago to
allow time for other sports.

I qualified for the county championships every year and reached many
finals. I was selected to swim for the County at 50 meters breast
stroke.

I regularly take part in local activities organised in the summer
holidays, including canoeing, sailing, abseiling and orienteering

I enjoy reading and especially read books based on histories and
classic civilisations.

Travel
|
Following the Chantry Rugby Tour of South Africa, I continued on to
West, Central and Eastern Zimbabwe.
During 1998 I spent 6 months travelling in Western Australia and Bali.

School Based
|
During my final year at Chantry, I benefited from two periods of work
experience; with a dentist and Hospital in Kidderminster.
|

The Manor Arms Hotel
Abberley
|
For 6 months prior to my final year at Chantry, I worked regular
weekends and evenings helping a new company to re‑establish the
Hotel and Restaurant. This included Kitchen and Waiting as well as
general Hotel work. On returning from Australia in 1998, I
continued to work there as barman. This involved Public, Lounge and
Function bars responsibility as well as re-stocking and cellar work.

Woodbury Brewery
|
During the year before leaving for Australia in 2000, I worked with
my Father at his 5 Barrel Microbrewery assisting with racking,
fining, deliveries and quality control.

Building
|
During most Summer and Easter vacations I have regularly worked with
a local agricultural engineer on projects such as building and
demolishing barns, and with a local builder working on house extensions
and barn conversions. I have also worked for several weeks with a
Scaffolding company on a major development at UC Worcester.

Manufacturing
|
During the Winter 1999/2000 I worked on temporary contracts to fund
my present visit to Australia, including plastics assembly work and
warehousing.
